I’ll do WHATEVER you want…well, almost.

next

Well it’s getting close to the end of the year, and you know what that means, right?

Time to figure out what next year will be about.

See, I don’t like to wait and see what happens and respond to it.  Maybe I’m still a bit of a control freak, but I like to decide what I want to do ahead of time and then by hook or by crook, make it happen.

I always look at ALL areas of my life to see what I want to do next, or improve, or do different.  You should do the same, and maybe in the next few weeks we’ll even talk about that here and figure out what you want together.

But not today.

Today I need YOUR help.

Today I want to start to define what’s next for us HERE.

I guess I just don’t feel right doing it by myself.  I mean after all, it’s not about what I want, it’s about what YOU want.

Maybe that sounds a little weird, and maybe that’s why I’m different (well, one way anyway), but that’s what makes sense to me.  You come here and read my blog, maybe get one of my programs or one of the free reports, but whatever it is…it’s for YOU.  Who cares what I want?  Nobody.  And they shouldn’t.  I want to know what I can do to help you.

I already have my next free report in the works, so that idea is taken.  It’s going to be incredible, but it will six months minimum…

Do you want me to post here more?  Some people tell me I should post every day.  I think they overestimate me, but I just don’t think I have THAT much interesting stuff to say to justify posting every day.  I’d rather post really good, hopefully insightful and helpful material as it comes rather than trying to post just to post something.

I fear my posts would be like this if I posted daily:

Today I had fruit loops for breakfast.  My back hurts.  It’s still snowing in Wisconsin and yes, the cheese is good.  Don’t be anxious.  Talk to you tomorrow.

Who wants that?

But maybe I should post more.  What do YOU think?  Do you WANT to hear from me more often on the blog?

Want me to do a teleseminar?  You could email me questions and then we can all go on a big conference call and talk about the answers?

Want me to build a forum with a chat room and we can schedule times where we’ll all get together and chat?  Would you actually USE the forum?

Want me to offer private coaching where you can join a group of 5-10 people and I’ll work with you individually and give you more personal attention and we’ll chat on the phone and whatnot?

Want me to do video blog posts?  (please say no, heaven help me)

Want me to interview more people and post them here (authors, psychologists, etc.)

Want me to review self-improvement books here?  Reading them is a big part of what I consider my job, I just counted and last year I read 71 so I could certainly do that if you’re interested.

Is there a product you want me to develop?  Something you think needs to be addressed that isn’t?

Those are just some of my ideas…what do YOU want?  That’s all that counts.

Let me know in the comments below so everyone can see.

Remember this all exists for YOU, not me.  So go ahead, boss me around.

I would love a “support group” on-line if that is possible.

Diane November 23, 2009 at 6:21 pm

I agree with Leslie, I would like to talk with people experiencing what I am feeling.

Soma Nimalasuriya November 23, 2009 at 6:50 pm

I agree with Leslie and Diane . I like to talk with people experiencing same way I feel. You can send me some book reviews to read for a better life.

Rich Presta November 23, 2009 at 7:13 pm

Ok, I think I can pull that off…

What does everyone else think?

ml November 23, 2009 at 7:25 pm

Rich,
I think private coaching is a great idea .Telesiminar is also good

polly November 23, 2009 at 7:38 pm

I think book reviews and recommendations would be a great idea. There are a so many that are unhelpful that it would be good to have someone wade through them before I tried to. I became involved because of a fear of driving and it would be helpful to hear interviews with psychologists who have helped people and who are not completely commerical. Good luck with your projects for next year. What a nice idea to ask what customers want!

Thea November 23, 2009 at 7:43 pm

I think an on-line support group is a fantastic idea! It will definately help with the “I’m the only person that suffers from panic” syndrom. There is a lot to be said when you finally figure out your not the only “crazy” person in this world. When you start to realize that everyone “and I mean every single person” deals with anxiety on some level,… it brings a calm to the ocean.

I’d love to see some videos or teleseminars with people who have been through your programs successfully and would like to share their stories.

Rich Presta November 23, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Good idea Sharon, I have some videos of clients on my website now, but I will try to get some more.

It sounds like you guys want a forum to talk in…so I’ll make that happen. I’ll commit to having it done within two weeks so you know I’m serious about giving you what you ask for. Deal?

I’ve always had a forum at http://www.FearofDrivingForum.com, but I should have one for general anxiety so nobody feels excluded. I’ll get it done and it will knock your socks off, you can hold me to it.

Nothing like a public commitment to add the pressure!

What else?

Rich

sonia November 23, 2009 at 9:05 pm

It would be good to be able to share what I’m feeling in real time

Mario November 23, 2009 at 9:08 pm

Wait a minute! I just got the program. I’m just beginning it. One thing at a time, please. Too much to worry about at one time. lol

Diane N. November 23, 2009 at 9:12 pm

Rich…I have been visiting your website for a long time now and never took the plunge into your program! I guess its because I believe that my driving phobia can only be addressed by a “hands on” approach…that is actually being behind the wheel with my “hands on” the steering wheel!! lol I am sure you disagree but to me that is a big part of it and online tutorials and therapy per say can not be in my passenger seat…are there others that have shared my feelings? If so, how did they get beyond that??
And yes online support, blogs and in general daily “you can do it” blurbs are always a great way to start the day!! Even if you only touch one of us that may have needed some encouragement for the day..it is worth it!

Diana C. Schneider November 23, 2009 at 9:13 pm

Hi Rich:
would you be so kind to do a few topics on how to drive
at Night Safely? what I have received so far on anxiety or Panick
attacks while driving has helped a lot. I only drive 7 times when the
time Changes from Fall to winter. I really want to be a better Night
driver. hope you can help? thanks- Diana
O” Yes Happy Thanksgiving.

Rich Presta November 23, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Great suggestions everyone.

Sorry to bombard you Mario…take your time!

Diane, hands on is always great, IF you have someone in your area that is qualified. I know of about three people in the US that I think are qualified, so that’s the problem :) It’s certainly not my way or the highway (no pun intended), but it’s just that there’s so few professionals that specialize in driving anxiety.

I like the idea of getting people who have succeeded to tell how they did it. Whereas, I think a forum for people still having problems might be a bad idea. Hear from people who HAVE been there, not people who are still stuck there, comparing notes on how bad the feel. Positive thinking, Law of Attraction and all that.

Steve November 23, 2009 at 11:47 pm

I like the thought of being able to talk to folks that are dealing with
the same things as me. A forum would be great! Thanks Rich

Danny November 24, 2009 at 4:29 am

I would like to talk to anyone who has overcomed their anxiety
I have gottten better but still can’t drive on a freeway and seem to have a panic attack every two weeks or so
I can get a promotion at work but am afraid to accept it because of freeway driving

dimpy November 24, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Try keeping us abreast with some must read books from round the Globe .

Diane N. November 24, 2009 at 1:55 pm

Rich
Would any of those professionals happen to be in New Jersey that would work in conjunction with your plan????
Wishful thinking??
Diane :)

Rich Presta November 24, 2009 at 2:56 pm

Sorry Diane. Ontario, Canada, Illinois, and Hawaii is all I got.

Claudia Walker November 25, 2009 at 12:28 am

I would like private coaching with 5 or 10 people…. Conference call is also a good idea.

MICHAEL DEVLETOGLOU November 26, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Dear mr.Presta,
Thank you very much for all the support .I am really dissapointed from myself. This is the first time in my life I failed to achive my target,to drive as a year ago.I started reading drivingfear and all the other subjects once more.It is amazing I find things that happen to me in detail..Please let me know where to concentrate more.
I don’t know how to thank you! Is there anything you want from GREECE? THANK YOU.

Rich Presta November 26, 2009 at 1:16 pm

Hi Michael,
I’ll send you an email because I need a few more details to direct you appropriately…

From Greece? Not that I an think of….although good Greek food is one of my FAVORITES and something I really miss from my days back in Chicago. There was terrific Greek food there. Not so much in Wisconsin :(

Hi Rich,

I too would love to see one on general anxiety and panic attacks. While mine started with driving (which I gave up over 2 years ago) they progressed to other areas of my life and I am getting closer to being totally agoraphobic. Today, having barely made it thru a 45 minute cleaning job and nearly having a meltdown, I am nearing the end of my rope in handling this. Having no insurance, having spent over two years researching and learning about anxiety and trying to deal with it on my own, I am only getting worse as time goes by. I want my life back. So yes, something on anxiety and panic attacks would be awesome. :-)

Hi Lauralee,
Was there something specific you were looking for? I ask because I already have two programs geared to general anxiety and panic attacks:
http://www.PanicPuzzle.com
http://www.AnxietyLie.com

Laurellee November 28, 2009 at 4:27 am

Thanks Rich, I only knew about your driving program.

R.L. December 3, 2009 at 10:39 pm

Hey Rich,
First allow me to thank u for all of your support. I’ve been on the driving program for a few months now and although I’ve made progress, I simply wish I could figure out how to simply relax and just drive in highway traffic and over bridges. I’m hoping by staying persistant with the program that at some point that will happen. I guess I’m just being impatient. I’ll keep working and staying positive. Thanks Rich!

Rich Presta December 3, 2009 at 11:29 pm

My pleasure!
